El artículo aborda el papel de la emigración en las relaciones entre España y Europa entre 1945 y 1986. Se ofrece primero una aproximación cuantitativa a las cifras de la emigración española a Europa y a sus efectos económicos sobre España. A continuación se trata el papel que correspondió al Estado y sus relaciones internacionales en este flujo migratorio. Por último se trata el asociacionismo emigrante y se sugieren pistas para reflexionar sobre su influencia en el cambio social experimentado por España en el tránsito de la dictadura a la democracia
This article discusses the role of international migration in the relations between Spain and Europe between 1945 and 1986. It first offers a quantitative approach to the figures of Spanish emigration to Europe and its economic impact on Spain. It follows a consideration on the role that corresponded to the State and its international relations in this migratory flow. Finally it tackles the emigrants' associations and it suggests some clues about their influence on the social change experienced by Spain from dictatorship to democracy.
