    El objetivo de este artículo es reconstruir las permanencias y cambios en el imaginario occidental sobre la naturaleza y el otro en América. Se trabajó esta perspectiva haciendo énfasis en las permanencias pues las reconstrucciones históricas usualmente propugnan por resaltar los cambios y las coyunturas lo que termina en una historia escalonada que no siempre explica fenómenos de larga duración como el de las relaciones entre los seres humanos y su entorno.

    This article intends to reconstruct the permanencies and changes within the West imaginary about the nature and the other on America. This perspective is worked emphasizing on the permanencies because the historical reconstructions as usually advocated to highlight the changes and joints, ending in a stepped history which usually does not explain long-term phenomena such as the relations between human beings and their environmet.
