El presente artículo trata de mostrar, con el Mar Mediterráneo de protagonista y a través de su origen y evolución, como los fenómenos geológicos, por insignificamentes que puedan parecer a escala planetaria, tienen gran influencia en el medio físico, en la fauna y en el propio planeta a escala global.

The present article tries to show, with the protagonist's Mediterranean Sea, as the geological research continues being of current importance, since it contributes tools of great value that allow to explain the origin, evolution and the current reality of each one of the places of this wonderful planet, and even of predicting the future of these. It is a field of research that knows not even temporary limits, not spatially, tremendously usefully, and especially very interesting.
