This article provides results of a survey of hospitality faculty who had participated in an internship experience with contract food service companies. Traditionally, in hospitality education, the contract services segment has been overlooked by educators as an advantageous career opportunity for students. Over the past several years, ARAMARK and Marriott corporations have attempted to change this by offering summer internships to hospitality educators in hopes that they would share their experiences and promote the positive aspects of the industry with students. Throughout the 1990's, a total of 35 hospitality educators from 18 universities participated in the three-week, summer internship program sponsored by both companies. Results of the survey indicate whether or not the educators are continuing to use the internship experience in their teaching.
