  • Resumen
    • Online education is becoming increasingly popular across the United States in both academic and business environments. Business schools have expanded delivery formats to include various forms of technology-mediated distance learning programs. A smaller number of hospitality schools have reported distance learning initiatives. The article draws on the research of distance learning programs to describe attributes appropriate for consideration of distance learning methodologies in schools of hospitality and tourism management. It then reports on a development project for a Web-based distance learning program in which the author was a participant that provides a model for implementation.
