    Frente a la afirmación de numerosos amigos de que Chile no tenía identidad, trataré en este artículo no tanto de contradecir sus opiniones pero, más bien, de encontrar esta identidad sin, por lo tanto, poder afirmar o describir aquella identidad. Contrariamente a muchos pueblos vecinos que afirman tener una identidad propia, el pueblo chileno debe empezar a encontrar su identidad mirando hacia a fuera en vez de mirarse a si mismo. Mirar el conjunto de las influencias que nos hicieron lo que somos en vez de buscar la unicidad de ser chileno en oposición a otras identidades.

    In front of the affirmation of numerous friends that Chile does not have any identity, I will try in this article to, much more than wanting to contradict their opinions, find this identity without being able to state or describe such identity. Contrary to a lot of neighboring peoples that state having a proper identity, the Chilean people must start to find its identity looking outside and not only at itself. Looking at the group of influences that created what we are more that looking for the oneness to be Chilean in opposition to other identities.
