This paper compares the effect of terrorism on the tourism industry in developing and developed countries. Analysis of a cross-sectional data set of 60 countries supports the hypothesis that terrorisms effect on the tourism industry is larger in developing countries than in developed countries. Based on this result, developing countries especially should implement ways to prevent terrorism and avoid the detrimental effects on their tourism industry.
