Resumen de Creencias y prácticas de mujeres con discapacidad frente al ejercicio de sus derechos

  Con el objetivo de identificar los significados y las prácticas que realizan las mujeres bogotanas con discapacidad, frente al reconocimiento y ejercicio de sus derechos, se llevó a cabo un estudio hermenéutico-interpretativo. Participaron 26 mujeres en dos grupos focales y 8 entrevistas en profundidad. La información fue analizada a partir de la propuesta de Teoría Fundamentada de Strauss y Corbin (2002). Los resultados muestran que la construcción de significados y el ejercicio de los derechos están mediados por las creencias de la familia y de la sociedad, la relación con las instituciones y el Estado, la capacidad de control sobre el cuerpo, y el acceso a diversos escenarios de participación. Se señala la necesidad de aportar en la construcción de una sociedad incluyente para el reconocimiento de la diversidad, así como la importancia de reconocer y resignificar la doble vulnerabilidad de la mujer con discapacidad como una construcción social dominante en la cultura.

  The objective of this hermeneutic-interpretative research study was to identify the meanings and practices of women from Bogotá with disability related with the recognition and exercise of their rights. Twenty six women participated in two focus groups and eight in-depth individual interviews. The obtained information was analysed making use of Strauss' and Corbin's (2002) Grounded Theory perspective. The results showed that the construction of meanings and practices are mediated by family and societal beliefs, relationships with private and governmental institutions, the ability of the body to control itself and the possibility to access to different contexts. It is important to contribute to an inclusive society in which it is recognised the diversity. At the same time it is important to be aware of the double vulnerability of the woman with disability as a dominant social construction in the culture.
