This essay seeks to explore a survey of chronicles written by Ne w Spain conquistadores and theologians during the Sixteenth and Seventeenth centuries.
It is stated that old western my- thologies were imported to understand the human condition of in digenous people in America in order to adapt them via a moral system of justified domination. Th us, it is considered that the mythological discourses of the Other were the underpinnings of ideological excuses of either a genocidal physical violence or an ethnocidal epistemic viol ence against indigenous people in America.
