Resumen de Soldados lectores: la movilización del libro durante la Gran Guerra

Durante la Primera Guerra Mundial, todos los países beligerantes organizaron servicios de lectura para sus tropas. El número de libros y revistas que se destinaron se cifra en decenas de millones. La historiografía del conflicto no ha prestado atención a la significación que la lectura tuvo para los combatientes. En el artículo se esbozan los ámbitos temáticos que cabría estudiar para elaborar en el futuro un trabajo que proporcionase una comprensión general del fenómeno y de su influencia en la evolución de la biblioteca moderna.

During the First World War all the belligerent countries organized reading services for its troops.
The number of books and magazines sent was estimated at tens of millions. The conflict historiography has not paid attention to the significance that reading had to combatants. The article outlines the thematic areas that should be studied to develop in future work to provide a general understanding of the phenomenon and its influence on the evolution of the modern library.

Lehen Mundu Gerran gerran zeuden herrialde guztiek beren soldaduentzat irakurketa-zerbitzuak antolatu zituzten. Hartara bideratu ziren hamar miloika liburu eta aldizkari. Gatazkaren historiografiak ez dio behar bezalako arreta jarri irakurketak soldaduentzat izan zuen esangurari. Artikulu honetan, etorkizunean jorratu beharko liratekeen ikerlerroak iradokitzen dira, fenomenoa oro har ulertzeko eta gaur egungo liburutegiaren bilakaeran izan duen eragina ulertzeko.
