    Resumen El trasplante renal es el deseo de toda persona con Insuficiencia Renal Crónica que esté en tratamiento con diálisis. Aunque por desgracia no siempre se puede trasplantar a todos aquellos que lo necesitan, la vida del trasplantado mejora notablemente respecto a las etapas previas en diálisis. Este relato narra en primera persona la experiencia de un trasplantado renal tras su cuarto trasplante, dejando fluir sus sentimientos, opiniones y vivencias de casi medio siglo en contacto con la problemática renal y el paso por todas las fases, desde el diagnóstico y la etapa prediálisis, la hemodiálisis, el trasplante y el rechazo. Desde los inicios, cuando se comenzaba con las primeras experiencias en diálisis y en trasplantes, hasta la actualidad, donde el avance de la técnica y los valores humanos parecen más patentes.

    Abstract (A call for changing life. The story of a kidney transplanted person) The renal transplant is the wish of all persons who are affected from renal chronic Insufficiency in treatment with dialysis. Though unfortunately it is not always possible to transplant all those who need it, the life of the transplanted person improves notably with respect to the previous stages in dialysis. This story narrates in first person the experience of a kidney transplanted person after his fourth transplant, allowing the flow of his feelings, opinions and experiences of almost half a century in touch with the renal problematic and the passage through all the stages, from the diagnosis and the pre-dialysis stage, the haemodialysis, transplantation and rejection. From ancient times when the first experiences in dialysis and transplants began, until today where the progression of technology and human values seems more evident.
