¿Nuevos hogares para los emigrantes? Casas y paisajes en el debate sobre el límite entre Cogotas I y el Primer Hierro en el Valle del Duero

    En este trabajo se aborda el proceso histórico entre el Bronce Final y el Primer Hierro como la coyuntura de mayor cambio en la Prehistoria reciente de la cuenca del Duero. Se avanza en su caracterización en términos rupturistas, reconsiderando la importancia de las fluctuaciones demográficas para comprender el nuevo orden social instaurado en la Edad de Hierro. El artículo pretende complementar las lecturas históricas disponibles, tanto histórico-culturales como funcionalistas, centradas en el registro monumental, tratando de superar algunas de sus limitaciones. Para ello se combinan acercamientos a muy distinta escala, que informan sobre el concepto de hogar, como entorno material y simbólico de las vivencias cotidianas, que aúna facetas utilitarias y a la vez rituales. En primer lugar, se revisan las transformaciones operadas en el ámbito doméstico, a través de un proceso que supone la sustitución de la cabaña por la casa, como célula social básica del Hierro Inicial. En segundo lugar, se considera la dimensión territorial del cambio, reuniendo los datos sobre el poblamiento en las distintas comarcas de Castilla y León, que estuvieron sujetas a dinámicas puntuales y alternativas de inmigración o abandono. Ambos fenómenos, precipitados al iniciarse el primer milenio AC, serían síntoma de complejos cambios estructurales, y habrían venido encauzados mediante dinámicas de fisión y reproducción segmentaria. Los aspectos tratados llevan a reforzar la idea de discontinuidad entre Cogotas I y las comunidades del Primer Hierro, dos realidades ordenadas por principios cosmológicos no conciliables, entre las que medió una refundación de la institución del hogar.

    This paper considers the historic process during the Bronze-to-Iron Age transition as the most important change conjuncture in the recent Prehistory of the Duero basin. It evolves in its characterisation from a discontinuous point of view, and it reconsiders the importance of the demographic fluctuations in order to understand the new social order established in the Early Iron Age (EIA). The article expects to complement the available historic interpretations which focus on the monumental record, like culture-historical and functionalist ones, and its aim is to exceed some of their limitations. To reach this object, approaches at very different scale are combined to give some information on the concept of home, as a material and symbolic environment of everyday experiences, which links both utilitarian and ritual spheres. First, the transformations in the domestic field are revised, defining a process of substitution of huts for houses, as the elemental social unit in the EIA. Second, the work considers the territorial dimension of the change gathering settlement data from different regions of Castile-Leon, which were subject to punctual and alternative immigration or abandonment dynamics. Both phenomena, being unleashed at the beginning of the first millennium BC, would be a symptom of complex structural shifts channelled through segmentary fission and reproduction dynamics.

    The discussed themes strengthen the idea of a drastic discontinuity between Cogotas I and the EIA communities.

    These were two different realities ordered by unsuited cosmological principles through a process of home renew as institution.
