Resumen de Autoritarismo docente y diversidad sociocultural: dos expresiones antagónicas en el contexto universitario

  El presente ensayo se enmarca en un abordaje teórico reflexivo sobre la naturaleza del autoritarismo docente y la atención a la diversidad sociocultural en espacios universitarios, como manifestaciones cotidianas en la compleja dinámica que se da a lo interno en los ambientes académicos. Caracterizar esta dinámica desde estas dos aristas, no es una tarea sencilla, habida cuenta de la multiplicidad de significaciones que se derivan de cada una de estas expresiones según la perspectiva sociológica que se asuma. No obstante, prescindir de este análisis o ignorar sus repercusiones en la educación superior, implicaría incurrir en un error cuyos efectos desbordan el plano teórico, dado que autoritarismo docente y la atención a las expresiones de diversidad sociocultural impactan significativamente la dimensión social, cognitiva, afectiva y espiritual del estudiante

  This paper is based on a reflective theory approach about the nature of teacher authoritarianism and the focus on socio-cultural diversity at university settings, such as daily demonstrations of the complex dynamics within the academic environment. To characterize this dynamic from these two points of view is not a simple task; there are multiple meanings that come from each one of these expressions according to the sociological perspective it takes on. However, to do this without any analysis or to ignore its repercussions in higher education would imply making an error whose effects extend beyond the theoretical implications since educational authoritarianism and the focus on expressions of socio-cultural diversity greatly influence the social, cognitive, affective and spiritual traits of the student
