Objectives: identify the occupational risks that affect nursing professionals and analyze the possible factors that predispose these professionals to the risks found. Method: Bibliographical research, with analytical descriptive characteristics. The research was conducted by virtual databases: LILACS and SciELO, having as reference the following descriptors: nursing and occupational risks. The text selection was based on national articles published since the year 2004. Results: Between selected productions scenario more studied is the hospital, in relation to occupational risks predisposing factors most discusses environment and inadequate conditions of work; do not use or misuse of personal protective equipment (EPI); inappropriate attitudes and habits of workers. Conclusion: The scientific production study points to a problem of multiple factors, from workers, employers, the conditions of working environment, wage conditions, the dynamics and division of work, many other factors that are common in nursing professional practice
