    Aquest article vol explicar com s'han desenvolupat les formes de poder laiques i de l'Esglesia al llarg deis segles. Partint de la transformació del cristianisme en religió d'Estat es van resse guint algunes de les manifestacions més importants que han fet de l'Esglesia cristiana un deis poders més influents de la civilit zació occidental, fans al punt de considerar amb Schmitt que gairebé tots els conceptes significatius de la teoria moderna de l'Estat són conceptes teológics secularitzats. Qué significa aixó i quines conseqüéncies ha tingut pel desenvolupament de la política moderna és el que s'analitza en aquest article.

    The aim of this article is to show how secular and ecciesiastical power devcloped trough the centuries. Beginning from the transformation of christianity finto state religion, the article presents some of the facts that more contributed in making the christian church one of the most influential powers of the occidental civilization, getting to the point of considering, with Schmitt, that almost every significant concept in the modern theory of the State is a theological concept secularized. The article analyzes what does this mean and what are the consequences it had in the developing of modern politics.
