Mesures anthropométriques chez une population d�enfants âgés de 0 à 3 ans à Sidi Bel Abbès (Ouest Algérien)

    The aim of this work is to evaluate the anthropometric and nutritional status of a population of children aged of 0 to 3 years which comes for consultation to a healthy center (January to June 2009), by using anthropometric measures (weight and size) and according to the Kanawati and Mc Laren index (arm and head circumferences ratio). The anthropometric evaluation suggests a significant reduction in weight and size for all the children aged of 1 to 3 years. Also the Kanawati and Mc Laren index shows a light under-nutrition in the girls from the birth to 1 year, middle in the boys for the same age and almost severe under-nutrition for all the population aged of 1 to 3 years.

    L�objectif de ce travail est d�évaluer les états anthropométrique et nutritionnel d�une population d�enfants des deux sexes âgés de 0 à 3 ans venus en consultation au niveau d�un centre de santé (Janvier à Juin 2009), par le biais de mesures anthropométriques (poids et taille) et selon le critère établi par Kanawati et Mc Laren (rapport des périmètres brachio-céphaliques).

    Les mesures anthropométriques suggèrent une baisse staturo-pondérale significative chez tous les enfants âgés de 1 à 3 ans et l�indice de Kanawati et Mac Laren montre une malnutrition légère chez les filles de la naissance à 1 an, moyenne chez les garçons, et une dénutrition sévère pour l�ensemble des patients âgés de 1 à 3 ans.
