    Este artículo tiene como objetivo comprender las claves de la formación de la nueva mentalidad religiosa de la elite empresarial, nacida durante la dictadura militar, a través del análisis de los postulados de Monseñor Josemaría Escrivá de Balaguer, líder y fundador del Opus Dei. La interrogante de este artículo es ¿de qué manera el Opus Dei le imprimió un nuevo ethos cultural y una justificación ideológica al empresariado y a su sistema neoliberal? ¿Cuánto de esa mentalidad religiosa conservadora aportó al proyecto económico de la elite empresarial? De lo anterior, se sostiene que los planteamientos del Opus Dei, basados en la santificación del trabajo ordinario y la justificación que hacen de la riqueza, permitieron sintetizar los valores tradicionales católicos de la elite con las exigencias de la modernización económica capitalista neoliberal

    The aim of this paper is to understand the keys to the formation of the new religious mentality of the elite enterprise, born during the military dictatorship, through the analysis of the postulates of Monsignor Josemaria Escriva de Balaguer, leader and founder of Opus Dei. The question of this paper is how does Opus Dei, he brought a new cultural ethos and an ideological justification to the business and its neoliberal system? How much of that conservative religious mentality contributed to the economic project of the business elite? From the foregoing, it is argued that the approaches of Opus Dei based on the sanctification of ordinary work and the justification given to wealth, allowed Catholics to synthesize traditional values of the elite with the requirements of capitalist neoliberal economic modernization.
