Resumen de Os atributos da autoridade eclesiástica no �De viris illustribus� de Ildefonso de Toledo

During the sixth and seventh centuries, in the visigothic kingdom, episcopal elite wrote a significant volume of texts, linked to the process of reorganizing and strengthening the local Church. This article will focus one of them, the work De viris Illustribus, of Ildefonso of Toledo, written in the second half of the seventh century. In this document, maintaining the tradition started in the christian ambit by Jerome, senior figures in the Church are biographied. Leaving of the premise that Ildefonso proposed in his text a paradigm of religious authority, we will study here the aspects of church leadership that the author highlights, by focusing on thirteen personalities.

Durante os séculos VI e VII, um volume considerável de escritos foi produzido por eclesiásticos no reino visigodo, vinculados ao processo de reorganização e fortalecimento da Igreja local. Deste conjunto, interessa no presente artigo abordar a obra De Viris Illustribus, de Ildefonso de Toledo, escrita na segunda metade do século VII. Neste documento, mantendo a tradição iniciada no âmbito cristão por Jerônimo, figuras eminentes da Igreja são biografadas. Considerando que Ildefonso propôs em seu texto um perfil de autoridade religiosa, importa aqui verificar os aspectos da liderança eclesiástica que o autor realça, ao enfocar treze personalidades.
