Perfil y sobrecarga del cuidador primario del paciente adulto mayor con afecciones neurológicas

    Introducción. En México las estadísticas sobre el cuidador primario revelan que existen padecimientos en número cada vez mayor, como las enfermedades neurológicas, las cuales representan un alto impacto sobre el cuidador primario y por lo tanto el aumento en el número de cuidadores del paciente adulto con este padecimiento. Los objetivos del presente trabajo fueron identificar las características del perfil sociodemográfico del cuidador primario del paciente adulto mayor con afecciones neurológicas, así como, identificar la sobrecarga que afecta la salud del cuidador primario de estos pacientes.

    Material y métodos. El estudio fue descriptivo transversal. Para la realización del estudio se entrevistaron a 43 cuidadores primarios del Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social (Clínica número 1 Lic. Ignacio García Téllez), utilizando los instrumentos Margaritas y Zarit.

    Resultados. En el presente estudio predominaron las cuidadoras primarias del género femenino, con edad promedio de 41 a 60 años y en su mayoría presentaron una intensa sobrecarga emocional.

    Conclusiones. El perfil sociodemográfico del cuidador primario del paciente adulto mayor se ve afectado en todo momento

    Introduction. In Mexico the statistics about the primary caretakers reveal that in big magnitudes sufferings exist as neurological diseases. Which represent a high impact on the primary keeper and therefore the increase in the number of caretakers of the adult patient with this suffering. The investigation objectives are to identify the characteristics of the profile sociodemografic the primary caretakers of the adult major patient with neurological affections, as well as to identify the overcharge that affects the health of the primary caretakers of the adult major patient with neurological affections.

    Material and methods. Cross-sectional descriptive study. For the accomplishment of the study were interviewed 43 primary caretakers of the Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social (IMSS) clinical number 1 Lic. Ignacio Garcia Téllez. Using the instruments Margaritas and Zarit.

    Results. In the present study predominated the primary caretakers of the feminine genre, with age from 41 to 60 years and in the main they presented an intense emotional overcharge.

    Conclusions. The socio-demographic profile of the patient�s primary caregiver older are affected at all times.
