    Aristotle�s defense of natural teleology in Physica II 8, and in particular the aporia he raises in this context with regard to the proper explanation of rainfall and the coming to be of animal parts are among the most disputed passages in the whole Aristotelian Corpus. In my account , I will first offer a general outline of the passage and indicate the problems involved. Then, I will offer my solutions to them.

    Neste artigo apresentamos um quadro geral da defesa de Aristóteles da teleologia natural em Physica II 8, analisando a aporia que ele levanta, neste contexto, no que diz a respeito do fenômeno da chuva e do vir a ser das partes dos animais. Em primeiro lugar, indicaremos os problemas envolvidos, e logo em seguida apresentaremos a nossa solução para eles.
