    Los cambios funcionales y estructurales del sistema rural español están ligados a una secuencia conceptual con origen en el agrarismo tradicional, que da tránsito a un agrarismo de mercado, más tarde a una ruralidad pluriactiva y después a otra multifuncional. De ello deriva la existencia de tres fases en su evolución: la de crisis estructural, la de reconfiguración funcional y potenciación de la pluriactividad y la de re-invención (o re-definición) de la ruralidad. La explicación de esa evolución durante los últimos cinco decenios y su modelización cualitativa constituye el objetivo central de este trabajo.

    The functional and structural changes of the Spanish rural system are linked to a conceptual sequence with origin in the traditional agrarianism, that gives transit to an agrarianism of market, later to a multi-activity rurality and later to another multifunctional one. From it derives the existence of three phases in its evolution: the one of structural crisis, the one of functional reconfiguration and involution of the multi-activity and the one of re-invention (or re-definition) of the rurality. The explanation of that evolution during the last five decades and its qualitative modelling constitutes the central objective of this job.
