Resumen de A Importància das Caracteristicas Sócio-Demográficas dos Visitantes enquanto Determinantes da Imagem dos Destinos Turísticos. O caso do Concelho de Aveiro

  In the context of tourism, the image of the destinations has an important influence in the behaviour of the consumers. However, several studies show that the image people hold of tourism destinations may be influenced by their socio- -demographic characteristics. The objective of this study is to identify the image that the visitors of the municipality of Aveiro hold about this municipality and to verify if this image is related with the socio-demographic characteristics of the visitors. The results reveal that people who visit the municipality have a positive image of Aveiro, particularly in terms of natural attractions, gastronomy and hospitality of local people. However, it shows that the image is influenced by the socio- -demographic characteristics of the visitors, namely by their age, gender, level of education and nationality.

  No âmbito do turismo, a imagem dos destinos tem uma importante influência no comportamento dos consumidores. No entanto, diversos estudos apontam para o facto da imagem que as pessoas possuem dos destinos turísticos poder ser influenciada pelas suas características sócio-demográficas. Este estudo tem como objectivo identificar a imagem que os visitantes do concelho de Aveiro possuem sobre este concelho e verificar se esta imagem está relacionada com as características sócio-demográficas dos visitantes. Os resultados revelam que as pessoas que visitam o concelho têm uma imagem positiva de Aveiro, particularmente em termos de atracções naturais, gastronomia e hospitalidade dos residentes. No entanto, verifica-se que a imagem é influenciada pelas características sócio-demográficas dos visitantes, nomeadamente pela sua idade, género, nível de habilitações literárias e nacionalidade.
