  Resumen Las enfermedades cardiovasculares han generado siempre mucho interés por su impacto personal, social y/o económico. No obstante, estas enfermedades se han estudiado clásicamente empleando como referente al varón y siempre desde enfoques cuantitativos. Así pues, resulta interesante comprobar que existen diferencias de género en la enfermedad coronaria y que los métodos cualitativos constituyen una excelente herramienta para el estudio tanto de estas diferencias como del modo en que sienten y viven las mujeres su enfermedad. Este relato biográfico es la historia que Angelina quiso contarnos tras haber sufrido un infarto de miocardio. En él nos habló de su infancia, de su familia, de los momentos difíciles por los que tuvo que atravesar, y de lo que supuso en su vida la enfermedad inesperada.

  Abstract (The way in which an event changes your life. Experiences of a woman who has suffered a heart attack) Heart diseases have always generated much interest because of their personal, social or economic impact. However, these diseases have always been studied by taking the male into consideration and always from a quantitative approach. It seems interesting to verify that as for heart diseases there are gender differences and that the qualitative methods are an excellent tool in order to study both these differences and the way women feel and live their illness. This biographical account is the story that Angelina told me after suffering a heart attack. She told me about her childhood and her family, about the difficult times she went through and about what this unexpected illness meant in her life.
