    • Managing business relations is one important and interesting part of Supply Chain Management. Of a practical point of view, buyers and suppliers are managing these relations on different levels. On buyer's side the relationship management is often dependent on the type of goods bought and also the risks related to each supplier relationship. When assessing the map of different supplier relations and portfolio of bought products and services, risk management is worth of taking into consideration. There is a wide collection of literature and research done on the subject, but only few models compose different aspects of the problem. This paper presents a composed business risk assessment model for production outsourcing purposes that takes into consideration product to be bought, supplier relationship and risks to be related into different relationships. Therefore, it presents a situation on the side of a buying organization and discards the marketing aspect of the relationship. The model requires knowledge on product attributes and is involving core competencies of the company. The model has been developed on the basis of existing literature from a practical assessing and decision-making situation.
