Resumen de Risks, visibility and control in maritime supply chains
Supply chain disruptions have become a critical issue for many companies, and supply chain complexity and disintegration are emerging as major challenges in supply chain risk management. The ability to identify risks has decreased as the control and visibility of supply chain operations have fallen to the hands of outside service providers. The risks, their visibility and their impact depend on the position of the companies in the supply chain and on the level of analysis companies can carry out. In this paper we present preliminary research concepts and findings concerning the identification and analysis methods of supply chain risks as well as risk management control between supply chain members. The paper provides a holistic view to maritime supply chain vulnerability and the problems in risk visibility and control. It illustrates how the level of risk identification and management can vary highly between the organizations in supply chains.
