    L'anàlisi comparatiu de les estructures polítiques que bastiren, respectivament, la Corona de Castella i la Corona d'Aragó, té como premissa la consideració de les circumstancies históriques que determinaren la formació de cada una d'aquestes entitats polítiques, i que així modelaren els seus trets característics. Reconeguda la seva génesis i desenvolupament divers, l'estudi detingut del complex institucional de cada corona, ha de permetre copsar llurs analogies i divergéncies. Les esmentades estructures polítiques i l'entramat institucional que les configurà, s'articularen a partir d'un ordenament jurídic que en regulà llur constitució i funcionament. La determinació de les tradicions jurídiques, les influéncies exteriors o el desenvolupament original de les fonts del dret públic, esdevé dones, un àmbit de recerca indispensable per a reeixir en un coneixement aprofundit de les realitats históriques de la Corona de Castella i la Corona d'Aragó.

    The comparative analysis of the political structures that formed the Crown of Castile and the Crown ofAragon, has as a premise the consideration of the historical circumstances that determined the formation of each of these political institutions, and which therefore modelled their characteristic features. Once its genesis and diverse development has been acknowledged, the detailed study of the institutional complexity of each Crown must enable to understand their analogies and differences. The aforementioned political structures and the institutional framework that shaped them will be built from a legal system that regulates their construction and operation. The determination of the legal traditions, the influences from the outside or the original development of the public right's sources, therefore become an indispensable research field to succeed in a deep knowledge of the historie realities of the Crown of Castile and the Crown ofAragon.
