    La música en Guinea Ecuatorial está integrada en la vida y es una música funcional, al servicio de la comunidad. No hay un escenario para el arte, sino la vida misma. Así, los hitos importantes en las fases vitales y finalmente la entrada en el mundo de los antepasados son grandes ocasiones de las que la música forma parte y, dentro de los ritos, tiene una función mediadora entre la comunidad y todo el mundo espiritual. Los mismos instrumentos constituyen objetos sagrados y forman parte de la cadena de intermediarios para conectar con la fuerza vital que impregna toda la realidad.

    The music in Equatorial Guinea is integrated to the life and is a functional music, to the service of the community. There is no a scene for the art, but the life itself. This way, the important milestones in the vital phases and finally the entry in the worl of the forbears they are big occasions of that the music forms a part and inside the rites, it has a mediating function between the community and the whole spiritual world. The same instruments constitute sacred objects and form a part of the intermediaries' chain to connect with the fuerzavital who impregnates the whole reality.
