A stratigraphic study was carried out of the walls of San Román de Eguileta Church, located in the eastern part of the Province of Alava. The stratigraphic sequence of the site enabled the identification of a series of construction phases, including a medieval phase which had not previously been recognised, since the building had traditionally been considered as having been entirely reconstructed during the 18th century.
