Resumen de Autonomía, imagen y reafirmación institucional: Un uso de la imagen en la Magistral de Alcalá a mediados del siglo XVI

El presente artículo pretende dilucidar las causas y los objetivos del encargo de una pintura que se encontraba en la iglesia Magistral de Alcalá de Henares. La obra, de mediados del siglo XVI, parece estar ligada a la lucha entre ésta, en tanto que parte del entramado institucional de la Universidad Complutense, y los arzobispos de Toledo, por el control de sus prebendas y jurisdicción.

This article offers several hypothesis in order to explain the reasons of the creation of a curious painting formerly at Magistral Church of Alcalá de Henares. That image, a paited panel, seems to have been made in relation to diverse events of the fight mantained by the Archbishops of Toledo and the Magistral Church with the objective of controlling the prebends of the latter.
