Función de la novela en la construcción del imaginario social/femenino

    En este estudio se añalizan los factores que contribuyen a la definición de la novela como instrumento para la creación de un nuevo imaginario social que se adapte a los emergentes modelos nacionales establecidos en la Europa del siglo XIX. Éste imaginario, irremisiblemente ligado a la conceptualización social burguesa, será definido tanto en la novela realista como en la denominada novela doméstica, donde el papel de la mujer , como escritora y como heroína, será de vital importancia. Así, teniendo en cuenta la tradicional identificación entre mujer/madre y nación/patria, es importante analizar la función de la mujer en la configuración del nuevo imaginario social/nacional.

    Tanto en la ficción novelística española como en la ficción inglesa los límites de las tradicionales esferas femeninas seran transgredidos para dotar a la mujer de actancialidad nacional.

    This study analyzes the factors that contribute to the definition of the novel as a tool for creating a new social imagination that is tailored to the emerging national models established in Europe in the nineteenth century.

    These, directly linked to the bourgeois conceptualization of the social structure, will be defined both in the realist novel as in the so-called domestic novel, where the role of women, as writer and as heroine, will be vital. Thus, taking into account the traditional identification of wife / mother with nation / homeland, we must analyze the role of women in the configuration of the new social/national imaginary. Both in Spanish as in English fiction the limits of the traditional feminine sphere will be transgressed to provide women with national actantiality.
