    La globalización incluye las lenguas, el inglés como la lengua global y las lenguas y variedades locales, así como nuevas situaciones de contacto lingüístico. La globalización supone para los hispanohablantes sobre todo cuestiones de política lingüística, como son la aceptación de las variedades en una lengua pluricéntrica y del contacto lingüístico tanto en España como en América. Es necesaria una evaluación realista del español o habla hispana, en Estados Unidos como resultado migratorio e histórico, así como en la comunidad hispanohablante en general, especialmente en la ciencia e internet.

    Globalization includes language, both English as the global language and local languages and varieties, as well as new language-contact situations. Globalization for the relatively large Spanish-speaking community crucially involves linguistic policy issues, including the acceptance of different varieties in a pluricentric language, and language contact both in Spain and the Americas. A realistic evaluation of Spanish or «habla hispana» is needed, both in the U.S. as a result of immigration and history, and in the wider Spanish speech community, especially in science and the internet.
