Resumen de Expresiones de luna nueva en las inscripciones jeroglíficas mayas

El artículo aborda el problema de los glifos que en algunas inscripciones mayas sustituyen a los llamados Glifos E y D. Se retoma la idea, sugerida anteriormente por algunos estudiosos, de que estos glifos hacían referencia a la luna nueva. Después de realizar un análisis epigráfico, el presente trabajo propone lecturas para varios de estos inusuales glifos. Se concluye que los antiguos mayas habrían contado, efectivamente, con expresiones lingüísticas especiales para designar el proceso de desaparición-invisibilidad-aparición de la luna.

The subject of this article is the reading of the glyphs that in some Maya inscriptions substitute to the so called Glyphs E and D. The paper restarts the idea, suggested previously by some scholars, that these glyphs did reference to the new moon phase. After realizing an epigraphic analysis, the present work proposes readings for varied of these unusual glyphs. The article concludes that the ancient Maya would have explained, sure enough, with special linguistic expressions to designate the process of disappearance-invisibility-appearance of the moon.
