  • Pre-classical theatre was unified by its divine destination; the unity of parts in classicism depends on the spectator, namely the King. Molière's comedies show that its elements, violence, comedy, and the love interest, are linked in the same way as the Real, the Symbolic, and the Imaginary in Lacan's topology.
