  • Rimbaud's elsewhere can be approached from the sea, whose centrality as a prime originator of images can be rapidly demonstrated, while it metaphorises the poet's relationship to dreams of departure, and finally because two types of boat - motionless canoe and ark - figure the relationship between here and there.
