Resumen de Q & A with ed tech leaders: interview with Katy Campbell

  • Katy Campbell received her Ph.D. in Instructional Studies from the University of Alberta. Currently Associate Dean in the Faculty of Extension (University of Alberta), she has been an Assistant Professor at the State University of New York at Geneseo, a distance education developer at Keewatin Community College (Manitoba), and Research Director of Academic Technologies at the University of Alberta. Her research Interests include gender/technology interactions and resulting design issues. She has devoted a good deal of time and her professional life to these issues and has also been involved in faculty transformative practice through collaborative instructional design, inclusive design practices, and the practices of instructional designers. In this interview, she reflects on gender issues in technology and learning, sociocultural issues, pedagogical trends, and learning in general, be it e-Iearning, Web based, or mobile learning (e-mail: katy.campbel/@ualberta.ca).
