La cuestión del poblamiento antiguo y de la navegación en las islas Canarias ha sido objeto de atención en múltiples ocasiones. En el presente trabajo se analizan algunas publicaciones recientes que apuntan a un poblamiento del archipiélago canario a partir de gentes transportadas en navíos del mundo púnico occidental. La cultura indígena canaria sería la reelaboración en un medio aislado de influjos culturales púnicos y mauritanos.
