España, Cuba y Marruecos: Masonería, identidades y construcción nacional

    El presente estudio es un intento de aproximación al papel jugado por la masonería en la construcción nacional de dos ex-colonias españolas: Cuba y Marruecos, durante el último tercio del siglo XIX y primer cuarto del siglo XX. Se trata de una primera exploración de un tema de gran interés intercultural, social y político. Se parte de la base de considerar a la masonería como crisol de culturas y, por ello, se yuxtaponen ambos procesos, el cubano y el marroquí, al objeto de realizar futuros estudios comparativos. Se comprueba la difícil integración del ciudadano negro en Cuba, mientras que en Marruecos los masones tratan de crear una comunidad multicultural basada en la tolerancia y la fraternidad, aunque se rechaza el nacionalismo.

    The present study is an attempt of approximation to the role played by the Freemasonry in the national construction of two Spanish ex-colonies:

    Cuba and Morocco, during the last third of the 19th century and the first quarter of the 20th century. It is a question of the first exploration of a topic of great intercultural, social and political interest. It splits of the base of considering the Freemasonry to be a crucible of cultures (melting pot) and, for this reason, both processes are juxtaposed, the Cuban and the Moroccan, in order to realize future comparative studies. There is verified the difficult integration of the black citizen in Cuba, whereas in Morocco the Masons try to create a multicultural community based on the tolerance and the brotherhood, though the nationalism is rejected.
