Resumen de Dos balnearios atlánticos entre el fin de siglo y la crisis del treinta, San Sebastián y Mar del Plata: un ejercicio comparativo

  Desde la perspectiva de la historia social, en un ejercicio metodológico comparativo, el artículo analiza la trayectoria de los centros balnearios ubicados a ambos lados del Atlántico, San Sebastián en Europa y Mar del Plata en América. Dos modelos tardíos en relación al caso británico, pero que llegaron a convertirse en los destinos balnearios de distinción más importantes de sus respectivos países, entre fines del siglo XIX y las primera décadas del XX. En ese sentido se analizan cuestiones asociadas a sus diferentes orígenes, la función turística, el impacto del paradigma higienista, como también los vínculos establecidos entre ambos balnearios mediante inmigrantes vascos asentados en la ciudad austral. Asimismo, se indaga en sus diferentes destinos. San Sebastián, asociada las playas de distinción del norte de Francia, y Mar del Plata, al escenario del turismo social argentino.

  From the perspective of social history in a comparative methodology exercise, this article discusses career centres spas located on both sides of the Atlantic, San Sebastián in Europe and Mar del Plata in America. Two late models in the British case, but came to become the most important distinction bathing destinations in their respective countries, between late 19th century and the first decades of the 20th. Such analyses issues associated with their different origins, the tourist function, the impact of the hygiene, paradigm as also the links established between both spas by Basque immigrants settled in the southern city. It also explores in different destinations. San Sebastián, associated the beaches of Northern France, and Mar del Plata distinction to the Argentine social tourism stage.
