We report the presence of nephrite jade, a semiprecious gemstone, in the Ronda peridotites (Betic Cordilleras, southern Spain). These rocks are formed by submicroscopic to fine-grained aggregates of tremolite with felted interlocking texture. They occur as pods and discontinuous veins and developed by metasomatism in the reaction zones between granite dykes and partially serpentinized country rocks.
