    The portrait values questionnaire (P.V.Q) es un cuestionario que mide los valores personales;

    ideado en un contexto cuya cultura e idioma, hebreo e inglés, es diferente al contexto venezolano y español. Es por ello, que el objetivo de este estudio fue realizar la adaptación transcultural utilizando el modelo de adaptación transcultural de Serra-Sutton y Herdman, que consta de tres fases: traducción inicial, grupo de discusión, entrevista y grupo de expertos y retrotraducción. La conclusión señaló que la adaptación aseguró una equivalencia lingüística, semántica, cultural y de significados de los 40 ítems del cuestionario entre las culturas de Venezuela y España con el original en inglés. Esto hizo posible una mayor validez y fiabilidad del mismo como parte de una primera etapa de la investigación sobre los valores personales y la autoestima colectiva en docentes universitarios.

    The Portrait Values Questionnaire (PVQ) is a questionnaire that measures the personal values.

    It was conceived in a context which culture and language, Hebrew and English, are different from the Venezuelan and Spanish ones. For that reason, the objective of this study was to make the transcultural adaptation based on the transcultural adaptation model of Serra- Sutton and Herdman, which consists of three stages: initial translation, discussion group, interview, and expert group and retrotranslation. The conclusion indicated that the adaptation guaranteed a linguistic, semantic, cultural and meaning equivalent of the 40-items questionnaire between both Venezuelan and Spanish culture and the original questionnaire in English. This made possible to give it a higher validity and reliability as a part of the first stage of the research about the personal values and the collective self-esteem of the professors.
