Resumen de Conocimientos y actitudes de estudiantes universitarios respecto al Espacio Europeo de Educación Superior

  Este artículo analiza los conocimientos y actitudes respecto al Espacio Europeo de Educación Superior (EEES) en una muestra de 81 estudiantes universitarios mediante un cuestionario de elaboración propia con preguntas abiertas.

  Los resultados indican que el EEES se entiende principalmente como un proceso de homogeneización de la formación superior en Europa. Los elementos positivos del EEES informados por los participantes son principalmente: la libre circulación de estudiantes por Europa, el papel más activo del alumno y una mejor preparación de los futuros profesionales. No obstante los estudiantes refieren mayormente elementos negativos del EEES como la incompatibilidad de combinar trabajo y estudio, la probable privatización de la educación superior y los riesgos de una reforma educativa a coste cero. Al mismo tiempo los universitarios reconocen no tener suficiente información sobre el EEES y que las fuentes de información más utilizadas (compañeros e internet) con frecuencia contienen contradicciones e inexactitudes.

  Los resultados obtenidos apoyan la necesidad de seguir facilitando información a los estudiantes sobre las características del EEES así como de buscar estrategias para fomentar su interés en documentarse a partir de fuentes fidedignas.

  This study analyses knowledge and attitudes towards the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) in a sample of 81 university students using an opened question questionnaire.

  The results show that EHEA is defined as an equalization process of higher education in Europe. The reported positive elements of the EHEA were: students free movement around Europe, more active student roles and better training for future professionals. The participants reported a higher number of negative results of the EHEA, including: work and study incompatibility, the potential privatisation of higher education and the risk of an education change without economic support. However, at the same time participants recognize that they did not have enough information and that the information sources they used (other students and the internet) often contains contradictions and inaccuracies.This research highlights the need to provide more information about EHEA to students and to motivate students to collect information from reliable sources.
