    El Centro de Interpretación creado en el Castillo pone en conocimiento distintos aspectos relacionados con Águilas y el edificio donde se ubica. Su visita descubre las peculiaridades que definen un término municipal con 28 kilómetros de costa y un abigarrado relieve interior, la estrecha relación de la ciudad con su castillo, la historia de un municipio proyectado en la Ilustración y el patrimonio natural y cultural de una comarca cuyas fuentes de riqueza han sido secularmente la minería, el mar y la explotación de campos y sierras. Por otro lado, se desarrollan aspectos relacionados exclusivamente con la fortificación como por ejemplo la vida cotidiana en el castillo o el sistema defensivo de esta construcción prácticamente inexpugnable.

    The Center of Interpretation created in the Castle allows to know different aspects about Águilas and the building where it is located. The visit to the Center discovers the peculiarities that define a municipal area with 28 kms. of coastline and a motley inland landscape, the interdependent relation of the town with his castle, the history of a municipality projected in the Illustration time and the natural and cultural patrimony of a region where the wealth's sources have been the mining industry, the sea and the exploitation of fields and mountains, for a long time. On the other hand, aspects related exclusively to the fortification are showed, as for example, the daily life in the castle or the defensive system of this practically impregnable construction.
