Este artículo aborda la progresiva importancia artística del sentimiento y la imaginación a lo largo del siglo XVIII frente al legado racionalista cartesiano y su repercusión en el ámbito de género. Con este fin, intenta desentrañar las claves formales de dos autorretratos de una de las pocas artistas femeninas reconocidas de la época, Elizabeth Vigée-Lebrun, pintora de la reina Mª Antonieta.

This article analyses the increasing artistic main of feeling and imagination along the 18th century in front of the Cartesian rationalist heritage and its consequence in the gender field.
So, it tries to decipher the formal keys of two self-portraits by one of the few renowned women artist at this time, Elizabeth Vigée-Lebrun, the Queen Marie Antoinette's painter.
