    Este artículo hace un breve recorrido por la evolución histórica de la orientación en España, deteniéndoseen la figura de la profesora Elvira Repetto Talavera, en sus aportaciones académicas y científicas,y en su papel de impulso de la orientación, particularmente desde la esfera asociativa. Se analiza el panoramaactual en la institucionalización de la orientación en España desde los años noventa, describiendotres subsistemas cuyas evoluciones están sucediendo en paralelo y sin apenas puntos de interconexión:en los contextos de educación primaria y secundaria, en la universidad y en los ámbitos de formaciónpara el empleo y de inserción sociolaboral. Se concluye argumentando, entre los retos pendientes, lanecesidad de una mayor profesionalización de la función orientadora y de avanzar hacia un sistema integradode orientación que aporte coherencia y calidad.

    This paper briefly reviews the historical evolution of guidance in Spain, focusing in the Professor ElviraRepetto Talavera from the perspective of her academic and scientific contribution, and in her role promotingguidance, particularly from the community of practice perspective. We analyse the current stateof the institutionalisation of guidance in Spain since the nineties, describing three subsystems that areevolving in parallel but with almost no mutual interconnection: primary and secondary education, universityand vocational training, and transition to work. We conclude that, among the challenges thatremain, there is the need for a greater professionalisation of the guidance role and for working towardsan integrated guidance system that ensures coherence and quality.
