    A partir de una masacre sucedida en un pequeño pueblo de las montañas colombianas, donde residía en los años sesenta, el autor reflexiona sobre las causas de la violencia en aquel país y en el mundo. De otra parte, indaga en las relaciones entre literatura y violencia y el papel que debe cumplir el escritor ante ésta en virtud del impulso creador y la responsabilidad social
