Al más que aceptable corpus bibliográfico que sobre el exilio republicano de 1939 han producido regiones como Cataluña o Aragón, Extremadura apenas ha contribuido con unas pocas páginas. Es cierto que la diferencia numérica entre los emigrados catalanes y aragoneses y los extremeños es grande, pero ello no quiere decir que el exilio de estos últimos fuera inexistente. Díez-Canedo, Carrasco Garrorena, Rubén Landa, Arturo Barea, Timoteo Pérez Rubio, El Campesino, Francisco Vera, el actor Pitouto, etc., etc., -todos extremeños- tuvieron que salir de España empujados por la sublevación militar de julio de 1936. También muchos otros cuyo nombre no conoceremos jamás. O quizá sí. Todo depende de la voluntad con la que los investigadores quieran rescatar esta pequeña parcela de nuestra historia más reciente. Este artículo no es más que una mínima parte de esa voluntad.

Regions such Catalonia or Aragon have produced a considerable bibliographic body related to the Spanish Republican Exile of 1939, while Extremadura region had contributed with only few pages to it. Although the numeric difference between the Catalan or Aragonese emigrés and the Extremadura�s ones was huge, this does not mean that the exile of those did not exist. Díez-Canedo, Carrasco Garrorena, Rubén Landa, Arturo Barea, Timoteo Pérez Rubio, El Campesino, Francisco Vera, Pitouto the actor, and so forth, -all of them from Extremadura- had to flee from Spain pushed by the July 1936 military uprising. Also many others which name we will never know. Or maybe yes. All depends on the will of the researchers that want to rescue this small portion of our most recent history. This work is nothing more than a tiny part of that will.
