The recent discovery of a new Occitano-Catalan salut has made it possible to resume research into this neglected field of medieval Catalan literature. This second and final article is an attempt to place the salut in its historical and literary context by evaluating the terms used to designate the genre, the manuscripts in which it survives and the relations it maintains with contemporary texts.
