Resumen de La Cartografía en la presentación y análisis de los conflictos geopolíticos

La cuestión tratada en este estudio es la manipulación política en los mapas sobre los conflictos territoriales, basándose en el argumento de las limitaciones subjetivas de los mapas y de cómo los autores seleccionan los aspectos fundamentales de los mapas según sus objetivos. A partir de esta premisa se distinguen dos tipos de mapas: los elementales y los complejos. Dentro de este último grupo se encontrarían dos subgrupos: los independientes o moderados, sin manipulación; y los persuasivos, donde se distorsionan los hechos representados en los mapas. Los mapas persuasivos se convierten en armas para transmitir mensajes políticos cuya finalidad, en ocasiones, es la de justificar situaciones no legales. La conclusión de este estudio, una vez analizadas distintas situaciones y un caso, la cartografía en el conflicto palestino-israelí, es que los mapas en geopolítica se manipulan para crear actitudes en el lector en un intento de llevarle hacia las posiciones propias de los autores de los mapas.

The issue addressed in this study is political manipulation in the maps on territorial disputes, based on the argument of the subjective limitations of the maps and how authors selected the fundamental aspects of the maps according to their goals. Starting from this premise there are two types of maps: the elementary and complex. Within the latter group would be two subgroups: independents or moderates, without manipulation, and persuasive, where he was distorting the facts represented in the maps. The maps are converted into weapons persuasive to convey political messages whose purpose, at times, is to justify non-legal situations. The conclusion of this study, after analyzing various situations and a case, mapping in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, is that geopolitical maps are manipulated to create attitudes in the reader in an attempt to bring themselves into positions of the authors of the maps.
