    Presenta un conjunto de informaciones sobre los rasgos mas notables de la Investigación Acción Participación, IAP, apoyándose en puntos de vista de diversos autores, con el propósito de resaltar las incidencias y movimientos asumidos por esta corriente de pensamiento, en el transcurso de más de cinco décadas de su construcción, signadas por el rompimiento y cuestionamiento continuo de los conceptos, y procedimientos metodológicos, técnicos y operativos, empleados por la investigación tradicional. Este análisis de la IAP, se ubica en la dinámica internacional y en el papel que se le asigna a Latinoamérica, en la producción de conocimiento, de ciencia y de técnica. La presencia actual y el desarrollo permanente de esta corriente de pensamiento, la reafi rman como un aporte al conocimiento y transformación de Latinoamérica.

    Finalmente se destaca, la sistematización, como una de las herramientas que ha sido desarrollada, considerablemente, en las investigaciones que asumen a la IAP, como perspectiva teórica y metodológica de sus trabajos.

    Al respecto se contrastan defi niciones de sistematización, promovidas por varios autores latinoamericanos.

    We present a set of information about the features of Research Action Participation, RAP, relying on points of view of diverse authors, with the intention of highlighting the movements assumed by this current of thought, in the course of more than fi ve decades of it construction, sealed by the breach and constant question of the concepts, and methodological, technical and operative procedures used by traditional research. This analysis of RAP, is located in the international dynamics of the capitalist contemporary reality and in the paper that assigns it to Latin America, in the production of knowledge, science and technology. The presence and the permanent development of this current of thought, reaffi rm it as a contribution to the knowledge and transformation of Latin America.

    Finally is outlined, the systematization, as one of the tools that has been developed, considerably in the researches that assume the RAP, as theoretical and methodological perspective. In this work we compare and contrast defi nitions of systematization, promoted by several Latin-American authors.
