El artículo es un breve recorrido por el difícil camino a la autonomía del País Valenciano, ahora llamado Comunitat Valenciana, con todas sus vicisitudes y problemas, que alargaron, y en cierta manera diluyeron sus propuestas más interesantes, para integrarlo dentro de las autonomías y estatutos de la vía lenta, o las del artículo 143, en contraposición a las autonomías llamadas históricas, con el agravante de una batalla estéril en torno a los signos de identidad de los valencianos que marcaron y aun marcan el devenir político de esta región.

This article is a brief journey in the difficult road to the autonomy in the Valencian Country, now called Comunitat Valenciana, with all its problems, that lengthened, and in some way diluted its interesting proposals, to be integrated within the autonomous slow way regions, or article 143, as opposed to the autonomous historical regions, with the aggravation of a sterile battle around the signs of the Valencian identity that marked and still mark the political future of this region.
